Two NC police officers arrested on DWI-related charges

ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. — Two police officers resigned after being arrested Monday morning in connection with an alleged DWI.

Mark Lewis, 35, and David Walden, 29, were arrested by Carteret County deputies at 2:40 a.m. Monday, according to WCTI.

Lewis is charged with reckless driving to endanger and DWI. Walden is charged with aiding and abetting DWI.

Both men were officers with the Atlantic Beach Police Department and were off duty at the time of their arrest.

They were released on written promises to appear in court April 13.
