Marijuana growing operation found after pipe burst in NC apartment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police discovered a marijuana growing operation after a pipe burst at an east Charlotte apartment complex on Friday.

When police investigated, they found the door of one of the apartments on Carya Pond Lane open.

The apartment smelled of marijuana so fire department officials and police officers entered to see if anyone needed help inside the flooded apartment.

When they entered, they found 22 marijuana plants.
