COLUMBIA, S.C. — Panthers Coach Ron Rivera has sent a letter and team gear to a 9-year-old Carolina fan that sent him a letter.

WLTX reported that Rivera’s good deed came after he received a letter from the young girl.

Harmonie Frederick decided to send Rivera a letter after the coach’s home caught fire earlier this year.

The girl donated $5 from her tooth fairy money, because she said she didn’t want Rivera to be “homeless, waiting for his house to be built back.” She also included a drawing of a football in her letter to the coach.

Now, Rivera has returned the favor. He sent her his own thank-you letter, some Panthers gear and her $5 back, saying his insurance is covering the damage.

This isn’t the first time the Panthers have been in the news for sending children letters. Earlier this year, a 12-year-old boy wrote letters to all 32 NFL teams and the Panthers were the first to respond.
