5 people home when shots fired into Burlington residence

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Five people were home when shots were fired into a Burlington residence Tuesday night.

Shots were fired into an unoccupied vehicle on the 2400 block of Hillford Drive around 6 p.m., according to police.

When police arrived on the scene they discovered a vehicle and a home were struck. No one was injured in the shooting.

A neighbor told police a white two-door vehicle was spotted leaving the area after the shots were fired. At this time, police are not sure if anyone in the vehicle was involved in the shooting.

The gunshots caused $200 in damages to the home and $400 in damages to the vehicle.
