Missing 14-year-old girl believed to be with stepfather, family concerned

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — An Amber Alert has been issued for a 14-year-old South Carolina girl who officials said may be in danger.

Alexis Ann Deas, 14, is believed to be with her stepfather, 43-year-old Donnell Melton.

WSOC reported that Alexis Ann Deas, 14, is believed to be with her stepfather, Donnell Melton.

Investigators said Alexis’ mother contacted the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office when her daughter didn’t return home from school at New Heights Middle School in Jefferson Friday evening.

Alexis has blue eyes and brown, shoulder-length hair. She stands 5 feet 2 inches tall and is 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue jacket with Aeropostale on the sleeve and blue jeans.

Investigators said Melton could be driving a 1999 Nissan Maxima and the pair may be on their way to Texas. The car has a South Carolina license plate reading IUF 593.  His cellphone last pinged in Monroe, N.C.

Chesterfield deputies said they have reason to believe the teen may be in danger. Please call 911 with any information.
