White, powdery substance mailed to Samaritan’s Purse headquarters in Boone

BOONE, N.C. — A suspicious letter containing a white powdery substance was received at Samaritan’s Purse in Boone on Friday.

According to WBTV, Hazardous Material teams responded but officials have not confirmed what the substance in the letter is.

Only one person was exposed to the substance and is said to be OK.

Law enforcement was called to the scene when the substance was discovered and they alerted the Hazardous Material team.
