Two men charged after deputies find weapon in Guilford County jail

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Guilford County jail personnel found a homemade weapon during a routine check of inmates’ bunks late Tuesday morning.

Deputies found the device, which had been made from a pen, at about 11 a.m., Guilford County Sheriff’s Col. Randy Powers said.

Deputies charged two men with possession or use of a dangerous weapon in a jail, according to online arrest records.

Nikko Antoine Butler, 23, of 4229 Yanceyville Road, in Browns Summit, was being held in the jail on cocaine trafficking and narcotics charges, according to records. He has been in the jail since Nov. 7.
