Alamance County man charged with rape, burglary

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A Mebane man is in custody accused of burglary and multiple sex offenses.

Jeremy Reed Tootle, 24, of Mebane, is charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree rape, two counts of second-degree sexual offense and violation of a domestic violence protective order. He was also served warrants for violation of a domestic violence protective order and assault on a female out of Guilford County.

On Wednesday at around 2 a.m., Alamance County deputies responded to a 911 call of a sexual assault that occurred in the northern part of Alamance County.

Following an investigation, Tootle was arrested and charged.

Tootle was placed in the Alamance County Detention Center with no bond.
