Teen hospitalized after shooting in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. — Police are investigating a shooting that sent a teen to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 3 p.m., police and EMS responded to a residence in the 1400 block of North Main Street on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of a shooting but did not find a victim.

Shortly after arriving on the scene, officers were contacted by Danville Regional Medical Center and told a 17-year-old male had arrived by personal vehicle suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

The victim is being treated for his injuries and they are not considered life threatening.

An investigation is ongoing.
