PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — The bodies of four people were found in a Paulding County home Tuesday afternoon.

One of the bodies found was of Corporal Sam Driskell, 52, who was shot in the head while in bed, according to police.

Authorities said they believe the shooting occurred Monday night.

Driskell worked with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department for nearly 10 years, mainly in the Crimes Against Children unit.

Also found in the home were Driskell’s wife, 36-year-old Muachin. His stepson, 21-year-old Felix Almonte and their 12-year-old daughter were also found.

All had been shot, according to police, who also said they believe it was a murder-suicide.

Officers were conducting a welfare check at Driskell’s home in the 7400 block of Ridge Road after Driskell did not show up to court Tuesday, according to police.

After entering the home, officers found the bodies and called for backup.

Police said that Driskell met his wife, who was from the Dominican Republic, while in the military.
