North Carolina natives and accomplished political operatives Brad and Dallas Woodhouse found out recently while on C-SPAN just what their mom wants for Christmas: a peaceful family gathering.

You think your family gatherings get out of hand? You should see what goes on in the Woodhouse family get-togethers.

Their mother, Joy Woodhouse, who still lives in Raleigh, took advantage of a call-in segment while her sons were appearing on “Washington Journal” to make her wishes known.

Dallas was the first to recognize her voice, commenting, “Oh God, it’s mom,” before putting his head in his hands.

Brad and Dallas grew up in Raleigh in a family that was steeped in politics and current events. The two boys grew up to be very accomplished political operatives, but on different sides of the political fence — Dallas heads the conservative Carolina Rising and Brad heads the liberal Americans United for Change and American Bridge.
