Two dead after crash involving pickup truck in Forsyth County

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. – Officials said two people are dead after a single-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck early Friday morning just outside of Kernersville.

Thomas Bourne, 23, of Kernersville, and Eric Moore, 30, of Winston-Salem, were killed in the crash, according to Sgt. N.R. Stell with Highway Patrol.

Bourne was driving a full-sized Dodge Ram pickup with Moore riding as a front-seat passenger, according to the official.

The crash reportedly happened in the 4400 block of Old Hollow Road and the call came at about 3:52 a.m.

The truck ran off the road to the right side, overcorrected, crossed the center line, went off the left side of the road, got back on the road again, crossed the center line again, went off the right side of the road again, hit a ditch, a utility pole and a tree, overturned and stopped upside down in a private yard, according to a report.

Highway Patrol said speed is considered a factor, but an estimated speed was not provided.
