GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Co//ab opened its doors Monday, adding nearly 5,000 square feet of co-working space in downtown Greensboro for students and entrepreneurs.

The building space, located at 229 N. Greene Street, was donated by Elon University and renovated with help of community partners.

Co-working involves shared working environments, where people have access to services, amenities and programming, helpful for starting businesses or completing projects alongside other inspired individuals.

The Greensboro Partnership, which runs Co//ab, says members will have access to meeting, study and work space along with gigabit-speed internet.

“The opening of Co//ab is a significant step forward in Greensboro’s thriving higher education and entrepreneurial presence,” said Cecelia Thompson, Director of the Greensboro Partnership’s Action Greensboro Business Unit.

Memberships will begin Dec. 1.
