It’s not winter yet, but it is going to start feeling like it, with highs in the lower 40s on Friday.

Today, highs will be around 42 degrees, a whopping 20 degrees colder than average!

The good news is that our winds will diminish and skies will be clearing through the day.

Prepare for very chilly conditions for FOX8 Friday Football games though.

With clear skies, temperatures are going to be very cold by Saturday morning. Lows will be in the mid-20s and highs will only be in the mid-40s.

Expect increasing clouds on Sunday with milder weather. Highs are going to be in the lower 50s.

Monday brings a substantial chance of showers to the forecast.

Luckily, temperatures will be above normal for the entire day, and it is only liquid precipitation to deal with.

The front that will produce showers is also going to bring in another Arctic airmass to North Carolina by Tuesday, and the temperatures ahead will be even colder than we’re dealing with today with highs near 40 degrees.
