83-year-old NC woman dies after being mauled by pit bulls

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. — A woman who was mauled by four pit bulls in Robeson County Thursday has died, according to the Fayetteville Observer.

The 83-year-old woman, identified as Alameaner Dial, died late Sunday evening, the family confirmed to the paper.

The incident happened at the woman’s home on Gaddys Mill Road when she was attacked by four pit bulls, two of which were puppies.

The dogs were reportedly owned by the woman’s granddaughter who lived with her.

Dial’s grandson, who arrived after the attack, shot and killed one of the dogs.

The others were caught by Robeson County Animal Control and euthanized.

Charges may be pending.
