Randolph County man killed when tree fell on him

LEVEL CROSS, N.C. — A man was killed Friday evening when a tree fell on him, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

Firefighters were called to Coltrane Mill Road at about 5:30 p.m. for a traumatic injury. When they arrived, they found a man trapped under a tree branch, according to authorities.

Paramedics pronounced the unidentified man dead at the scene.

Witnesses told Randolph County Sheriff deputies the man had been cutting the tree when he accidentally cut a limb supporting the tree. The tree rolled onto the man, killing him.
