Spreadable bacon is now a thing.
Kraft Foods Group has successfully infused its Philadelphia Cream Cheese with bacon. The product, which contains bits of bacon, took nearly two years to develop.
“Bacon is a hard flavor to get just right,” Chris Hjorth, senior director for Philadelphia, told AdAge.
The new product combines the Philadelphia product with Oscar Meyer, one Kraft Foods’ other iconic brands.
“Cream cheese plays in the morning occasion primarily. Putting together Philadelphia and bacon was a perfect match,” Hjorth said.
The company is expected to begin marketing the new product next year.
