3-year-old shot, killed following fight on Facebook

DETROIT — A 3-year-old girl was fatally struck by gunfire on Thursday night following an altercation that started on Facebook, according to Detroit police.

In a press conference on Friday, Police Chief James Craig said four other people were injured and four suspects are in custody.

According to WJBK, Amiracle Williams was with her parents at an intersection in Detroit when she was struck by gunfire. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The girl’s father, a 40-year-old man, and her mother, a 36-year-old woman are recovering at a local hospital. The father is listed in critical condition. The mother is expected to fully recover.

Police said the altercation began following a fight on Facebook. A short time later, the altercation  continued at Denby High School where the shooting started.

Investigators did not release any other information about the Facebook argument.

Police are still searching for two additional suspects. The suspect who shot the 3-year-old has been arrested.
