DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- One man is in custody and another is still on the run after two men fled a traffic stop on I-85 in Davidson County Tuesday.
As Highway Patrol troopers were executing the traffic stop on northbound I-85 around 1:30 p.m., two of the three suspects fled the car and ran into the woods, according to Sheriff David Grice.
There was reportedly a third person still in the vehicle.
There is no word on why the traffic stop was initiated.
Multiple schools in Davidson County were on lockdown because of the chase, but the lockdown was lifted shortly after.
No one was injured.
Highway Patrol called in the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in catching the suspects. Deputies are no longer involved in the search.
