In embattled UNCG department, only 7 of 16 employees remain
GREENSBORO, N.C. — It was close to quitting time on April 1 when Paul Mason returned to the university relations department, according to the Greensboro News & Record.
It’s always a long day, that first day in a new job — in Mason’s case, associate vice chancellor of marketing and strategic communications.
And he probably thought it was about over.
Instead, he found all 16 employees on their feet, applauding, cheering, some even wiping away tears.
They served him a covered-dish dinner that included honey lemon bow-tie pasta, chips with homemade guacamole and celebratory cake.
