GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A 52-year-old man died from his injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in Greensboro Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. on South Eugene Street near Whittington Street.

Nathaniel Whiteside of Greensboro was walking in the area when he was struck by a 2012 Ford Fusion being driven by 73-year-old Emily Dickenson of Greensboro.

Whiteside was taken to Moses Cone Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police say impairment and speed are not factors in the crash.

South Eugene Street was closed because of this crash but has since been re-opened.

The Crash Reconstruction Unit is conducting the investigation.
