Student falls from second-floor window at Winston-Salem school

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — An eighth-grader fell from a second-floor window at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School Wednesday morning.

Emergency workers were called to the school at about 9:45 a.m.

The 13-year-old fell into a grassy area. Police and school officials said his injuries are not life-threatening. The student was conscious and talking.

No criminal charges have been filed.

The school is investigating what happened.
