INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – A dog that disappeared from his home six years ago has been found and is about to reunite with his long-lost family.

WISH reported that Bailey the Yorkie vanished from his Texas home six years ago and was found earlier this week in Indianapolis.

“I have a 9-year-old, 6-year-old and a 19-month-old baby. And I had the dog, before I had them all,” said Bailey’s owner Grisel Jaramillo. Bailey even served as a ring bearer at her wedding.

Bailey disappeared several years ago after sneaking out the front door. A neighborhood jogger said he saw somebody pick the dog up.

The dog’s owner got a phone call on Tuesday from somebody saying the dog had been found. Bailey had been microchipped and the owner was listed as a contact.

Bailey was found in Indianapolis and taken to a pet hospital. But how the dog ended up in Indianapolis remains a mystery.

Bailey’s owner hopes to bring the dog back sometime early next week. She said she plans on throwing Bailey a large animal party with a doggie cake.

“I mean it’s just amazing it really is. Nobody plans on something like this right? I mean six years later. That’s so amazing. I’m so excited to see him,” she said.
