NEWTON, N.C. — Additional warrants unsealed in the Maggie Daniels’ homicide case have revealed that the mother of the teacher’s boyfriend is the one who discovered her body back in June.

According to the warrants, the woman then yelled from Daniels’ apartment to an officer, who was nearby on another call.

The warrants detail how Daniels was wearing a pair of pink running shorts that were inside out on her body and nothing else. Her body was cold to the touch as if it had been there for hours, the warrant states.

Daniels’ neighbor, Sharman Odom, is charged with murder, kidnapping and assault in this case.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Odom.

He is being held without bond at the Catawba County Courthouse.
