GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Football is not the only big sporting event this weekend.

Greensboro is hosting the first ever Summer Pickleball Tournament this weekend.

The  Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department will host the inaugural Greensboro Summer Pickleball Classic August 28-30 at the Greensboro Sportsplex, 2400 16th St.

Pickleball is often described as a combination of tennis, badminton, and racquetball.

The tournament will consist of both me's and women's doubles and mixed doubles in the 35-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+ age ranges.
