When looking for help or advice, many people turn to family, friends or even the internet.

But sometimes, that just isn't enough.

FOX8's Michael Spears tell us that people in Piedmont will find answers for you -- all you have to do is pick up the phone.

By simply dialing 211, those in need of assistance are referred, and sometimes connected, to appropriate agencies and community organizations.

211 can help find anything ... from college loan help to child care to pediatricians.

Operators use a database that contains information for non-profits funded by United Way. There's also a list of church groups, state and local agencies, in every Piedmont city.
