Rockingham County deputies investigate string of thefts in Ruffin

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Rockingham County deputies are investigating a string of break-ins and thefts from within vehicles in the Oregon Hill Community of Ruffin.

Deputies said there have been 18 such reports since Aug. 1, 14 of which were reported on Tuesday night, according to the sheriff’s office.

Cash, credit cards and hand tools are among the items that were stolen from the vehicles, according to deputies.

Deputies said they are also investigating reports of break-ins and thefts at homes in the Madison area, in which jewelry was reported missing.
