CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton said Wednesday there is “no doubt” he’ll be in the starting lineup September 7 when Carolina opens the regular season at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Panthers.com reported that Newton is recovering after suffering a rib injury in Carolina’s Week 3 preseason game against the New England Patriots on August 22.
“My body feels better. It’s been a great process,” Newton said.
Newton will travel to Pittsburgh with the team for the preseason finale against the Steelers on Thursday, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
