Billy Crystal gave a touching tribute to his good friend Robin Williams Monday night at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
“He made us laugh big time … the brilliance was astounding, he could be funny anywhere,” Crystal said, calling Williams ‘the brightest star in a comedy galaxy.’
Williams was found dead in his California home on Aug. 11 at the age of 63.
“It is very hard to talk about him in the past because he was so present in all of our lives,” Crystal said.
He also spoke of Williams’ humor and his friendship, “as genius as he was onstage, he was the greatest friend you could ever imagine,” Crystal said. “Robin Williams … what a concept.”
The tribute concluded with clips from some of the late actor’s moments on late-night television.
