WRAL is reporting that Jackson became enraged Friday afternoon when his grandfather, 63-year old Glenn Maynor, who also lives in the home, refused to give him $5.

Witnesses say Jackson then punched his grandfather in the chest and face several times, which knocked the elderly man to the ground.

Maynor hit his head on the concrete floor, where he was left bleeding from his left eye, nose and mouth.

Authorities say Maynor is terminally ill and has other debilitating health issues. He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was treated for multiple facial fractures and a cerebral contusion.

Jackson is in the Cumberland County jail under a $100,000 bond.
