Triad moving companies help Heritage House residents move

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three moving companies are volunteering to help Heritage House residents move furniture into their new homes for free.

The companies are working with the Barnabas Network, which is an organization that provides new and gently-used furniture to those in need. Barnabas Network has already helped a dozen families from Heritage House, and they have more than 20 families scheduled to pick out furniture over the next few weeks.

“The Barnabas network is thrilled that we can be there to make an empty apartment or empty house into a real home,” said Erin Stratford Owens, executive director of Barnabas Network.

However, a lot of people forced to leave Heritage House don’t have transportation to move the furniture once they get it.

That’s where companies like Pro Movers, Tri-City Movers and Little Guys Movers come in.

“What our company is founded on is helping people, no matter the situation, whether they are moving or they’re forced to move and they don’t have any other options,” said Trent Abel, branch manager for Little Guys Movers.

The Barnabas Network is always in need of donations. New and gently-used furniture can be delivered to their warehouse. The organization will also pick up furniture for free.
