CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting that left a teenager with life threatening injures, according to WSOC.
Officers responded to South Tryon Street at Rivergate Parkway shortly before noon Thursday.
Upon arrival, police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Andrew Barnes, was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
Police said preliminary information believes the victim and suspect know one another. Detectives believe there was an altercation that led to the shooting and that this was not a random act of violence.
Detectives are seeking witnesses to the incident.
