Alert issued for NC couple wanted on child abuse charges

PIKEVILLE, N.C. — Deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are trying to track down a couple accused of child abuse.

A statewide alert has been issued for the pair.

Christian Amanda Tomeski, 21, and her live-in boyfriend, Thomas Strickland, 27, are accused of physically abusing Tomeski’s 2-year-old son, according to WTVD.

Investigators say a pediatric clinic tipped them off after noticing  bruises on the child’s head, ears and neck.

The child is now with his grandfather.

Authorities are still searching for the couple.

Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of either Tomeski or Strickland is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500.
