THOMASTON, Ala. — Some hunters in Alabama are celebrating a massive catch.

Wildlife biologists with Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fishers say a family caught a record breaking gator on Saturday in south Alabama.

Officials say the monster gator is 15 feet in length and weighs more than 1,000 pounds.

It was caught by Mandy and John Stokes and Kevin Jenkins and his children.

It’s the largest gator ever legally killed in the state of Alabama.
