For parents of teenagers, not knowing where your child is can be frustrating, even frightening.
And giving them a cell phone doesn’t always mean they’ll answer.
That’s why a Texas mother invented an app that her kids — and yours — can’t ignore.
Sharon Standifird created “Ignore No More,” which allows parents to take control of their children’s smartphones.
Until children reply to the messages, they are not able to text, play games, browse the internet or call their friends.
Standifird was livid the day she called and texted her teenage children and they didn’t respond. Once she knew they were ignoring her calls, she got an idea.
“We need to develop an app that just shuts their phone completely down and they can’t even use it,” she said.
Her husband William says he wasn’t surprised.
“Anything she’s ever really set her mind to, she’s done,” the husband said.
After months of design and working with developers, the app was born.
Not surprisingly, the developer’s son is not the biggest fan of the app.
“Um, well I thought it was a good idea, but for other people, not me,” said Bradley Standifird.
The mother says her son responds to her texts much faster.
The Ignore No More app is only available for Android phones on Google Play. It costs $1.99.
