Burlington woman accused of swindling mother, stepfather
BURLINGTON, N.C. — A woman accused of swindling her mother and stepfather has been arrested, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicole H. Fairley, 44, of Burlington, faces various charges including two counts of exploitation of an elderly adult; two counts of identity theft and one count of common law forgery.
Deputies said Fairley used her mother’s and stepfather’s information and forged signatures to get credit cards, cash and utility services. The acts cost the victims more than $25,000, according to deputies.
The suspect also faces one count of accessing a computer to commit a fraud; one count of obtaining a financial card by fraud; and one count of financial card fraud.
Bail for Fairley has been set at $50,000.
