Gov. Pat McCrory has accepted the ice bucket challenge.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on one’s head. It was started as a campaign to promote awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and gained widespread popularity this year.

Gov. McCrory said on Facebook he would make a donation in honor of Joe Martin, a former North Carolina governor. He also said he is nominating Senator Richard Burr to take the challenge.
