SALISBURY, N.C. — A Salisbury woman was arrested after her 10-year-old daughter was found crying alone on a playground Wednesday.
A family friend spotted the child and called police.
According to WBTV, the child told the woman that she was crying because her mother left her alone on the playground at Brookview Apartments while she drove to Winston-Salem.
The woman told police that the mother, identified as Josephine Bombo, frequently left the child alone at the park while she ran errands.
The woman volunteered to watch the child until the mother returned.
A short time later, police received another call that Bombo had returned and punched the woman caring for her child.
Bombo was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was placed in jail under a $1,000 bond.
