Power restored following more than 7,000 outages in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — More than 7,000 Duke Energy customers were without power Wednesday afternoon. Power has been restored.

Outages were reported along High Point Road.

Greensboro police received reports of traffic lights out along Hilltop Road, Clifton Road and Merritt Drive.

The outage was caused by an equipment failure at the Fairfax Road substation around 3:30 p.m.
