Firefighters respond to two-alarm fire at Winston-Salem apartment building

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at an apartment building in Winston-Salem Wednesday evening.

The fire is now out.

The fire broke out on the roof of the six-story Winston Factory Lofts, located at 675 Main St. shortly after 6 p.m.

A second alarm was called for manpower.

The fire forced the evacuation of 171 unit building while firefighters dealt with the small fire, investigated the cause of the fire and inspected the building.

No apartments were damaged and there were no reports of injuries.

It is unclear what started the fire.
