1 seriously injured in stabbing at Winston-Salem convenience store

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police responded to a stabbing at a Winston-Salem convenience store Wednesday afternoon on a report of a stabbing.

Officers responded to the WilcoHess, located at 4019 Reynolda Road, at 1:15 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a physical altercation occurred between two black males.

During the altercation, one of the males was stabbed in the upper torso. The other received a laceration.

Both individuals were transported to a local medical facility.

The two men were later identified as 47-year-old Shawn Kelvin Sprinkle and 29-year-old Shea Depaul Rousseau. Police say the two men are acquaintances and the violent encounter was not a random act.

Sprinkle was treated for a non-life threatening laceration and released. Rousseau is being treated for a stab wound to his upper torso and his injury is described as serious.
