HIGH POINT, N.C. — One person has died following a vehicle crash on Interstate 85 in High Point Sunday evening.
The wreck happened around 10:34 p.m. on I-85 between U.S. 311 and Riverdale Drive.
Troopers say the wreck happened when a car went off the left side of the road into a wooded median, hitting several trees before overturning.
The driver, who was identified as 47-year-old Estella Westmoreland of Raleigh, was ejected and died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt, troopers say.
A male passenger was transported to Moses Cone with non-life threatening injuries. His identity is not known at this time.
