WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Saturday night’s stock-car races scheduled for Bowman Gray Stadium were cancelled because of rain, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

Two 50-lap races for the featured Modified Division are scheduled next Saturday night along with racing in Bowman Gray’s three other divisions and a chain race.

Next Saturday’s race date will be the next-to-last of the season.

Lee Jeffreys of Wallburg holds a one-point leader on Jason Myers of Walnut Cove in the season standings for the Modified Division. Danny Bohn of Mooresville is third and is in striking distance of the lead, and all are seeking their first Bowman Gray title.

The other division leaders are: Ryan Robertson (Sportsman), Chase Hunt (Street Stock) and Chuck Wall (Stadium Stock).
