Kmart to close in Greensboro, eliminating 96 jobs

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Sears Holdings Corp. is closing its Kmart store in Greensboro by Nov. 2, eliminating 96 jobs, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

The news was confirmed by the Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed Tuesday with the N.C. Commerce Department.

The job cuts will take place over a two-week period beginning Oct. 26 at the 1302 Bridford Parkway location.

The company closed its store on Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem in March 2013, cutting 69 jobs.
