80-year-old Winston-Salem man accused of molesting two young girls

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man has been charged after police say he molested two young girls in his family over the past year.

Billy Ray Brown, 80, of 2720 Lance Drive, Winston-Salem, is accused of molesting a 7-year-old and 12-year-old over the past year in both Winston-Salem and New Oxford, Penn.

A joint investigation between the Pennsylvania State Police and Winston-Salem Police was launched.

Brown was charged with 14 separate sex offenses in Pennsylvania. A fugitive warrant was issued by Pennsylvania authorities and Brown turned himself in to Winston-Salem authorities on July 22, 2014.

Brown was most recently charged with one count of first degree sex offense with a child and six counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Brown has an extradition hearing for the charges in Pennsylvania on Aug. 7.

His bond for the charges in Winston-Salem was set at $100,000.
