GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 26-year-old man wanted in the fatal shooting of another man on July 11 in Greensboro was arrested Tuesday in Maryland, police say.
Brandon Jawon Pompey, 26, was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. in Cumberland, Maryland by members of the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and the Maryland State Police.
Pompey is accused of fatally shooting Clarence Eugene Toran, Jr., 24, on July 11, at the Timber Hollow Apartments on Trent Street in Greensboro. His brother, Terence Allen Toran, 22, was also shot, but was treated and released from the hospital that day.
Pompey will be arraigned in Baltimore and extradited back to North Carolina where faces a first degree murder charge.
