Tropical Storm Bertha forms in the Atlantic

Tropical Storm Bertha formed in the Atlantic late Thursday, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The storm has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and was moving west-northwest at 20 mph.

Bertha was located about 275 miles east-southeast of Barbados, according to the hurricane center’s 11 p.m. advisory.

Tropical storm warnings have been issued for Barbados, Dominica and St. Lucia. Tropical storm watches are in place for Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands.
