WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Emily James is off the show, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

James, a recent Wake Forest University graduate in marketing from North Kingston, R.I., wowed TV audiences and judges on “So You Think You Can Dance” for weeks with her lyrical contemporary dancing. But she was one of four dancers dismissed Wednesday night.

James began the evening in the bottom six, and performed a lovely contemporary solo in a bid to remain in the competition, but her Broadway dance with partner Teddy Coffey was not strong enough to keep her in the running.

The WGHP/FOX8 reality competition show has narrowed the field to 10. The remaining competitors will be teamed with winners from past shows.

In a recent interview, James was philosophical about the possible outcome.

“We’re all walking away with the prize of an incredible network,” she said.
