Winston-Salem police seeking assistance in identifying possible missing child

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police are investigating after a small child was picked up by three unknown subjects near Historic Bethabara Park.

A concerned citizen contacted police shortly after 1 p.m. and informed officers of the incident.

A small child was reportedly riding a bicycle in the 2100 block of Bethabara Road when three black males in a rust or red colored four-door sedan stopped and had a conversation with the child. The child then got into the back seat of the vehicle, leaving the bicycle behind at the scene.

The child was described as a black male between six and nine years old, wearing black pants and a yellow or neon green shirt. Two of the black males were described as heavyset with no additional description. One was described as having a regular build.

The bicycle was a blue and maroon colored Spider-Man themed BMX bike.

At this point, officers have not been able to determine whether the subjects that picked up the child were family members or guardians.
