Forsyth Co. man accused of restraining mother, forcing her to withdraw money at ATM

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested after police say he broke into his 68-year-old mother’s house last week and forced her to withdraw money from an ATM, according to the Winston-Salem Journal. 

Police say Richard Terrell Callaway Jr., 43, broke into the home in the 200 block of Torrance Drive, threatened and restrained his mother, then drove her to an ATM machine where he forced her to withdraw cash.

Callaway is charged with common law robbery, felonious restraint and first-degree burglary.

Callaway is in the Forsyth County Jail under a $40,000 bond. A photo was not available.

The mother was not injured.
